I always wanted to create a story of love, loss, and redemption. The Road to Athenaeum series has become the vehicle for that that type of story. There is, of course, plenty of action, and colorful characters. I also get to bring together my favorite genres, classic sci-fi and steampunk, whithin the overall package of an epic western.

So here we have the ornate beauty of steampunk design next to the stark coldness of hi-tech. Hovering above us are majestic Vulture class leviathan airships. Below us are the Rattlesnakes - articulated land transports.

 

This all occurs in a future North America where the clock has been reset, and society has evolved into to a 'wild west' world, where hi-tech still exists, but is extremely rare. Remnants from our time do exist, except they are mostly buried or reclaimed. throughout the landscape

 

These elements might all sound familiar to you. You might have seen them in movies or television.  I hope you will also consider that this is first and foremost a western, with cowboys, sod busters, and the gear and horses that go with them, set in the wide open rages of the land I call home.
